This is a special blog for us! John and Oscar have tied the knot!
We had the honor of photographing a wedding for dear friends of ours in Mission, TX at The Loretto Bistro! We were there as they got engaged in San Antonio, TX. We were there to photograph their beautiful engagement photos and now we are honored to share memories of an incredibly blessed and fun wedding!
You might remember their proposal and engagement photos we have posted!
They are anything but traditional. They choose a large wedding party that included so many close friends. People who have supported them from the beginning. We were two of those people and couldn't have been happier to stand with them as they tied the knot. Their sides were mixed with those they loved most. The ladies wore beautiful knee length plum gowns that they got to choose. The guys wore black tuxs with lavender ties. The grooms looked so handsome in grey tuxs that really brought the whole look together!
To keep with the tradition of throwing traditions out, we all meet at The Bryan House in Mission, TX for a super fun portrait session with the grooms and wedding party. The location had so many amazing features and is just perfect for a photo shoot.
We got to The Loretto Bistro and were just blown away by the transformation in this venue. It was the perfect location for such a special wedding. The ceremony site was stunning with white chairs on the lawn, beautiful vines surrounding the ceremony site, and lights strewed about to set the romantic tone.
They choose to have a romantic evening ceremony! Remember, we are throwing tradition out of the window. It was a privilege to be able to watch not only the ceremony but also all of the loving faces surrounding John and Oscar. The love just radiated around the entire wedding.
They had the most beautiful cake that just was just the cherry on top to this amazing wedding. The food was beyond delicious and the room hummed with the sounds of everyone mingling! It was a magically event.
The best men were up to give their toasts and they did not disappoint. There were a lot of emotions during the speeches but one thing that stood out the most was how much John and Oscar loved each other and that they make each other better people. This is what true love is all about!
Let's take a moment to talk about the world's most perfect first dance! Not only was it such a sweet song, Take Me The Way I Am, Ingrid Michaelson, but they choreographed such a sweet dance!
John and his mom had their mother-son dance at this point! It was so precious! But the moment that they turned to Oscar and asked him on to the dance floor, left the entire room without a dry eye! It was possibly the sweetest moment I have ever seen at a wedding. She welcomed her new son into the family and it was a moment that no one will forget!
I won't lie... I was having a hard time taking photos with the tears rolling down my face!
Besides the enormous amount of dancing that happened all night, we had to cut the cake! John and Oscar had a lot of fun while feeding each other cake!
