Your Dallas / Fort Worth Boudoir Session Checklist: 7Things You NEED For Your Boudoir Session

Hey there, Fearless crew! It’s Lexie here!

Is your intimate portrait session coming up with Fearless & Co? Are you considering a session with us, but you are stopped in your tracks because you don’t know what to do after you book? Whether you are booking our home base studio in Arlington, TX, or booking one of our out-of-state travel sessions, we have your back. We are here to take care of you, pamper you and let you relax and enjoy the experience.

You probably have tons of questions (and maybe even some concerns) about your big day—when and where to shop for outfits, what makes a good outfit for a session, how to prepare for it, what poses to do, and all the other many, many details—especially if you haven't done a boudoir sesh before. Every time you do a session, you get a little nervous BUT the first session is always the most nerve-racking. We totally get it and are here to help you get through it.

Keep this checklist of what to bring to your session! When those nerves start to kick in before your sesh, this will be your reminder, so you don’t forget anything.  We highly recommend packing your belongings a week or so before your session, so that you still have a clear mind and don’t forget something important to you. This way, there is nothing to focus on on your big day other than YOU.

Item 1: Your Favorite Sexy Lingerie

Of course, lingerie is a boudoir staple. A lot of women think about lingerie when they are considering their boudoir session. Investing in lingerie is never a bad idea. That investment could be $20 or $1000, it’s completely up to you! Get those outfits that showcase your curves and confidence. Need help with what outfits would look the best on you? Ask us, and don’t hesitate to send us images, so we can better serve you.

And, we're not talking about just bringing one outfit to your session. Bring along as many as you can, so we can create various looks. We typically photograph three outfits during your session but the more you bring, the more we can layer.

FEARLESS PRO TIP: Bring more than what you think you need. This gives you more options in the event that you don’t love something while in session. Also, make sure that you try everything on before getting to the studio. There is nothing worse than being in love with an outfit and getting to your session, only to find out that it doesn’t fit the way you wanted it to. Not a lingerie type of woman? That’s completely okay! There are a ton of other ideas for outfits that are not lingerie. We’ll send you an outfit guide before your session to help you prepare. Item 2. Shoes

I am always asked about shoes and if you need them or not. An easy answer is that it’s up to you. Do the shoes have personal meaning to you? Do they complete an outfit you have? If you can answer yes to either of these, then bring them.

If the answer is no, then you don’t need them. 95% of the time, I do not photograph shoes. While heels lengthen your legs and give the extended look, bring whatever shoes make you feel sexy.

FEARLESS PRO TIP: Don’t bring your ride-or-die, everyday shoes. This is not the time you want those comfy, worn shoes.

Item 3: Fishnets

Wanna set some pulses racing? Level up your boudoir look with a pair of sultry fishnets! Fishnets go with almost ANY outfit.
Not finding an outfit you love for your session? Fishnets are an outfit alone. They are sexy, and make you feel covered. So easy to accessorize!

FEARLESS PRO TIP: Larger fishnet patterns are sexier on the body. They are less busy and distract less from the image. Wear them under your underwear to get that perfect hug across the bum!

Item 4: Jewelry and accessories

It's the small stuff that can make the most significant impact on your session. Yep, we’re talking about wearing jewelry and accessories for your outfits. Putting on some bling brings a different kind of pizzazz to your session. Wearing accessories, such as body jewelry or a vintage fur coat can take your boudoir session to another level.

Bare Face Fort Worth Boudoir

Item 5. Bare face and clean hair

Your boudoir experience already includes professional hair and make-up, so no need to stress over doing it on your own and worrying if it will look good. It's also a great way to pamper yourself—all you have to do is tell our artist what your preferred look is. Anything from natural to full glam: the choice is yours. Just show up with clean hair and a clean and moisturized face.

Item 6: Stretched Body

Going to your first boudoir session can be filled with jitters; we totally understand that. You are nervous and worried about what to wear, what you will look like, how to pose. You don’t have to worry about any of that. Bring EVERYTHING you can think of. Our makeup artist will help you with your hair and makeup. And I will pose you.

All you need to do is stretch and drink plenty of water prior to your session.

Remember: this day is all about you, so get ready to be pampered and learn to love yourself.  It's totally 100% okay to feel nervous before your boudoir session. Just remind yourself that you are the queen of your own boudoir session and that everything you do is beautiful. By the end of our session, we want you to leave the studio feeling confident and empowered.
