Why Telling Your Story is a Method of Healing | Fearless and Co

A healing journey through the art of boudoir photography. Meet Arlington, Texas photographer Lexie Burton as she shares her story with you on how she became one of the best boudoir photographers in Dallas and Austin TX!

I've always been the shy type, but as I became a mother and found myself feeling alone in my struggles, I knew that if I wanted to find strength for me and those around me, it was time to start telling our stories. With encouragement from total strangers, we were able to create this space where women can come share their stories of triumphs or failures. It's not about being perfect all the time-it is about supporting each other through thick and thin. We hope that you will join us on this journey!

Before I was a boudoir photographer in Dallas, I was a lost person. I was photographing weddings and while I loved them, I was over working myself and missing out on my son growing up. I was gone every weekend for weddings and it was too much. This is my story.

I found boudoir coming into my life more and more and saw it as a way to help more women and not have mom guilt. For 3-4 years, I was being a full time stay at home mom and full time business owner. I was drained and not getting the support I needed.

Fast forward to the last almost 2 years and WOW.

I have never been through so many roller coaster rides of emotion. From separation and having to move out on my own, to going through a divorce, to COVID shutting me down, to being a lawsuit for a car accident, to all of the waves of emotions that come with being a single mom and business owner.

There are many days that I don’t feel like I can do this. I struggle to see how ends are going to meet. I struggle. But I found that telling my story helps me heal and move forward. Having a support system helps me move forward and see that I can do the things I am questioning.

What is your story?
